Darvel, sent and received.

The postcards combine familiar views with decorative designs, humour and handwritten messages. Together they show the town as both a place to remember and a greeting to send elsewhere.

The trade papers add another voice: everyday correspondence from Darvel manufacturers, with company letterheads, dates and telegraph details connecting the collection to the town’s textile history.
