Beyond places and landscapes

A town seen through its people.

“Other” is useful as a home for discoveries that cross boundaries, but the photographs themselves tell clearer stories. They are organised here by community and events, sport, work and everyday life, and school and service.

Together they range from textile workers and school classes to church outings, Darvel Juniors, the Burgh Band and a crowd gathered outside the Town Hall in 1910.

Digitised from artefacts held by Darvel Museum at the Town Hall, with thanks to Frank Donnelly for his longstanding care of the collection.
