Discover Darvel is owned and managed by the Darvel & Area Regeneration Team—better known as DART. DART is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, charity number SC049591.

DART supports the regeneration of Darvel, Priestland and the surrounding area. Its charitable aims include community development; advancing arts, heritage, culture and science; providing recreational facilities and activities; and protecting and improving the local environment.

In practical terms, that means creating opportunities for people to participate, celebrating the town’s heritage, supporting community activity and developing projects such as The Corner.

Yes. DART works cooperatively with residents, local businesses and volunteer organisations, including The Darvel Trust, Darvel & District Community Council, Darvel Improvement Group, Darvel Gala Team and Darvel Music Company. Discover Darvel is intended to support and celebrate the work happening across the whole community.

Yes. We welcome suitable contributions from residents, visitors, community groups and businesses. This might be a local story, photograph, memory, community announcement or information that would be useful to people discovering Darvel.

No. There is no charge for submitting appropriate community content or requesting that a community event is included. All material is reviewed by the DART team, and publication is not automatic.

If you are organising an event in Darvel or the Irvine Valley, complete the short Community Calendar Request Form. Send us the event name, date, time, description and an image. The DART team will review the information before adding it to the community calendar.
